PHOTOGRAPHY & WRITING
Each Saturday morning, Anna and her friend Mia followed a trail through the woods to a kiosk to buy candy. Saturday candy, children called the weekly treat.
Anna waited her turn in line and then climbed onto an upturned milk crate and leaned her head through the window. One by one, she pointed to her favorite candies in bins on the counter: chocolate bears, jelly raspberries, toffee beans, and more. The coin her grandmother gave her bought about twenty pieces.
Clutching their small bags, Anna and Mia went to sit on a boulder and savor their candy.
